Showcasing Nature's Stunning Beauty and a Great Cause
Today we want to showcase two Platypod users who are using their photographic talent to both stay creative during the pandemic and raise awareness for a fantastic cause.
Meet Samantha Kennedy and her good friend, Jan Shannon. Together they have started a new website, AReturntoNature.com, that showcases the stunning beauty of nature. In addition, 10% of any print purchases made from the site’s online gallery will go towards the Post Morrow Foundation, who’s mission is to preserve and conserve the rural, cultural and historical character of the hamlet of Brookhaven and surrounding areas in Suffolk County, New York.
In Samantha’s own words:
My friend and photography buddy, Jan Shannon, and I haven't been out together in over a month. But it gave us some time to go out shooting alone. We've realized people are finding some comfort in seeing photographs of nature during this time. Maybe they can't go out at all or they are really not able to. For example, living on Long Island it's become difficult to find parks not overly crowded. Especially now that many town parks have been closed.
Jan and I have collaborated on putting together a website of nature photography. We each have our own page and the digital downloads there are low resolution, but free to anyone.
Check out a sample of their work below and be sure to visit AReturntoNature.com.
