A Memorial Trip, A Platypod setup and Joe Pellicone

"On Monday, September 11th, 2023, I spent a little over 10 hours on a photo trip to various sites throughout NJ and NYC to photograph the World Trade Center memorial lights."

"I started in Port Newark at the Tear Drop Memorial, then got back in my vehicle to head over to Port Jersey Boulevard to snap a few photos of the Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center and Memorial Lights. While I was there I was caught in a Thunderstorm and then our trip was delayed a little over an hour. Luckily after the rain subsided, we shifted gears and headed over to Liberty State Park to photograph the Empty Sky Memorial and also the World Trade Center at the water’s edge. After I staged my Platypod gear and snapped a few photos of that location, we made a few short stops (in the vicinity of Exchange Place). Then into Manhattan, where there were basically only two places that a visitor could stand (with a wide angle lens) and get the World Trade Center from Floor to Antenna. Lastly, we walked over to the site photographing the waterfalls, the World Trade Center and the Oculus."

"While I did not remember to snap behind-the-scenes captures of this photo session, I must say that my Platypod gear helped me in several ways.
