Delightful treats with Jesse Feyereisen
Words and Photos by Jesse Feyereisen, A Platypod Pro

"Having attempted the Platypod Food Photography challenge was an incredibly enjoyable experience! As a toy photographer, I initially assumed that transitioning to food photography would be relatively straightforward, given my thoughts on the similarities in lighting and focal lengths I commonly use for toys, collectibles, and scale models. However, I soon discovered that this assumption was not entirely accurate."
"Not only does food photography require well-lit images, but it also demands an appealing aesthetic that should captivate the viewer’s attention and makes them almost yearn to take a bite out of the photo! Moreover, the challenge lies in capturing the subject swiftly, as it seems food can undergo significant transformations during the shooting process, such as cooling, melting, drooping, and more. In my case, soft lighting seemed to be the key element in successfully photographing my dessert subjects."
"The best part of all is that after completing the shoot, I have the delightful treat of enjoying the very snack I’ve captured on camera!"
