"Photo challenge accepted and met!"

"I like to tell stories with my photography, and I wanted to do the same with this shot, however, stories of just food are harder to come by than with my normal featured subjects. So, after much brainstorming, I came up with the idea of a muffin on a mirror with the top muffin having a bite out of it, and the reflected one remaining intact, like some sort of mirror dimension. It's not much of a story, but perhaps enough to get the viewer to give it a second look."

"I shot it on a piece of clear acrylic that was painted black on the bottom, making a black mirror. Lit by two LumeCube Panel Pro lights held up by various Platy-gear as appropriate for my rather small studio. The photo was shot on a Sony 6400 with a Sony 35mm Macro lens. I took two shots, the first of the muffin intact, then a second of the muffin with a bite out of it. I made the "bite" with my fingers so the muffin wouldn't move between shots. I then combined the two in Photoshop, and added a couple textures to the piece to match my preferred style. Finally, as a reward for a job well done, I ate the muffin. It was delicious."

"Overall, this was a very interesting exercise, and I enjoyed having the chance to participate. I encourage your readers to try a similar food photography setup being mindful of how their image can tell the viewer a story."
