Nosferatu Toy Shoot with Jesse Feyereisen

We watch Jesse Feyereisen very closely and we love to see his weekly posts on Instagram. He also engages regularly in the Platypod Users Official Facebook Group. One of his recent shoots stood out so we reached out to Jesse to see what went into creating the shot and how he used Platypod to help bring the vision to life. Here's what he told us:

Into pale shadows and ghostly dreams…

I'm very excited to finally share this holiday photo I created for BigBadToyStore, promoting the new Nosferatu movie in theaters now! When asked if I would like to do a horror movie photo in December, I of course jumped at the chance!

Utilizing my very beginner diorama building skills, I made a Victorian hallway and door out of foam and then used various props collected from a few different stores and figures to finish out the set.

I spent some time lighting it all with a warm glow from an off-camera fireplace, and a cold blue coming from an off-camera window mounted on a Platypod Ultra and Gooseneck.

Finally, I used a fog machine to add some creepy smoke at his feet. With my camera mounted on my trusty Platyball Elite, I took some photos!

In post, I combined two separate photos together to get the smoke I wanted. I painted in some lights onto the Christmas tree, and finally converted the image to black and white to really fit the old silent movie vibe. I'm really happy with how the whole thing came together!

Jesse Feyereisen can be found on Instagram and this shoot was for BigBadToyStore.
