Turtle POWER! Toy Photography with Jesse Feyereisen

"Decided I was feeling some Ninja Turtle this week. At the time I opened this TMNT Last Ronin figure over the weekend, I wasn’t even planning to take a shot, but just started messing around with him and suddenly I had an idea. Next thing I know I’m grabbing the camera and setting up lights."
"I posed the two figures in a little fight and placed a large softbox with a Godox AD200 overhead. Additional AD200s in smaller strip boxes on the sides for fill and kicker light. Used a spray bottle with water to try and create some rain and impactful splash from the punch. Repeatedly spraying with one hand, while snapping the shutter with a remote in the other. It took multiple tries, and a bit of luck, but I ended up with a few shots that looked ok."
"In post I started with some basic RAW processing in Lightroom. Merged a few different shots together in Photoshop to isolate the way the water was looking in various places, and added a touch of motion blur to the Turtle’s fist and Ninja’s bandana. Used Boris FX Optics to composite in a crack of lightning to add a little more drama, and finished off back in Lightroom with some finishing touches and color grade."
