"Sidney is a small community on south Vancouver Island, in the province of British Columbia. The town is centered on the waterfront, with a fish market, restaurants, and a fishing pier. The horizon is dominated by Mount Baker, which lies 73 miles / 118 kilometers east of us."
"Early morning is a tranquil time here. There is a lot of time to plan images, and there is enough structure to make them interesting. I live five minutes away, and I can park close to where I set up, so photo excursions here mean more time taking pictures and less time traveling."
"I use the Platypod eXtreme because I like to take 30-second exposures, and there is nothing more solid than my eXtreme attached to my Platyball Elite Ballhead on a stone wall. I use heavy equipment (a Nikon D850 and a Zeiss Otus 85mm) and it needs a good foundation. Overall, the Platypod is lighter and easier to carry than a tripod, and it allows me to take low-angle photographs. It has earned a permanent home in my camera bag."
